Information you give us
- Comments & discussion: when you post in a review's discussion, we collect the name and email address you submit, and the content of your comment. Your email is not published.
- Account details: if you create an account, we collect your email address and the credentials you set.
- Newsletter: if you subscribe, we collect your email address so we can send you our newsletter.
- Contact: if you email us or report a correction, we receive whatever information you choose to include.
Information collected automatically
Toolscopia does not itself collect or store technical data such as your IP address or browser details. The third-party services we use may, however, collect technical and usage data through cookies and similar technologies. Specifically, Google Analytics helps us understand how the Site is used, and Google AdSense serves and measures ads on some pages. This data can include your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, and access times, and it is processed by Google under its own privacy policy. See Section 6 for more on cookies.

We use personal data to:
- Operate, maintain, and secure the Site;
- Publish and moderate comments and discussion, and respond to what you post;
- Create and manage your account, if you have one;
- Send you our newsletter or replies you've asked for;

- Comply with our legal obligations and enforce our Terms .
We do not sell your personal data.
05 Our legal bases (for EU/UK visitors)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases to process your data:
- Consent: for non-essential cookies, analytics, and the newsletter, where required;
- Legitimate interests: to run, secure, and improve the Site and to moderate content, balanced against your rights;
- Contract: to provide an account or service you've requested;
- Legal obligation: where we must process data to comply with the law.
You can withdraw consent at any time; this won't affect processing carried out before withdrawal.
08 How long we keep data
We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy, or as required by law. Comments and reviews you post remain visible until you or we remove them. We keep the data of registered account holders while the account is active; if you delete your account, we remove all associated personal data within 12 months. Newsletter subscription data is kept until you unsubscribe. Usage data collected through Google Analytics is retained according to Google's data-retention settings. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.
09 How we protect data
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse, and unauthorised access. These include encryption in transit (HTTPS), storing data in encoded form on our servers (hosted with DigitalOcean), and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10 International data transfers
We and our service providers may process your data in countries other than your own, which may have different data-protection laws. Where we transfer data internationally and the law requires it, we put appropriate safeguards in place, such as standard contractual clauses, to protect your information.

If you are in the EU/UK (GDPR)
You have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your data; to object to processing; to data portability; and to withdraw consent. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.
If you are in California (CCPA/CPRA)
You have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to request deletion or correction, and to opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell personal information.
If you are in India (DPDP Act, 2023)
You have the right to access and correct your personal data, to request erasure, to grievance redressal, and to nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity. You can raise any concern with our contact below.
12 Children's privacy
The Site is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
13 Links to other sites
The Site links to third-party AI tools and websites we don't control. This policy does not cover their practices. When you follow a link or click an affiliate link, the third party's own privacy policy applies, and we encourage you to read it.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "Effective" date above, and we'll highlight material changes where appropriate. Please check back periodically.
