The short version

Quick verdict

Customer support receives very strong praise for speed, empathy, and willingness to resolve billing mistakes and issue refunds. Some users also find the humanizer useful for studies, rewriting, and productivity. However, many reviewers describe confusing trials, surprise charges, difficult cancellations, and output that sometimes remains detectable or reads unnaturally. This service suits students and light users who value responsive support and are willing to read billing terms carefully, but risk‑averse buyers and mission‑critical professionals should approach with caution.

Overview

What is Undetectable AI?

Undetectable.ai is an AI writing tool that rewrites machine-generated text so it reads as human and slips past AI detectors. It launched in 2023 under a team led by Christian Perry and has grown past 22 million registered users, the largest audience in the humanizing category. The core product takes text from ChatGPT or a similar model and paraphrases it across eight preset styles such as University and Marketing, stripping out the statistical patterns that detection software flags. Alongside the humanizer, the platform bundles an AI detector, a Chrome extension, an image checker, and support for over 50 languages.

What separates it from a plain paraphraser is the business it sits inside. The same CEO who owns Undetectable.ai also owns TruthScan, an enterprise detection service that powers the platform's own image checker. One company profits when you buy a tool to hide AI writing and again when schools buy a tool to catch it. That structure tells a prospective buyer more than any bypass figure on the sales page, and it explains the stingy free tier: 250 words before the humanizer asks for payment, with its strongest models locked behind a subscription.

Capabilities

Features

1

AI Humanizer

Hands-on testing

Test 01 How It Held Up in Testing

I ran Undetectable.ai through a single continuous test so I could watch how its own tools judged the same block of writing. My starting material was a passage about artificial intelligence generated by ChatGPT, about 193 words long. I pasted it into the platform's AI Detector to set a baseline.

Figure 1. The original ChatGPT text loaded into the AI Detector.

The detector took a few seconds and returned a clear verdict. It scored the passage 99% AI and shaded almost every line in red.

Figure 2. The detector rates the original text 99% AI.

That baseline was the point. The text was machine-written, so a high score meant the detector was doing its job. Next I clicked Humanize on the same passage. The humanizer rewrote it and produced a results panel with its own built-in scorecard. That scorecard rated the new version 99% Human and placed green checkmarks beside seven checkers including GPTZero, Copyleaks, ZeroGPT, Grammarly, Sapling, Writer, and QuillBot. One detail matters for anyone reading this: the run used the free Basic model, while the stronger Stealth and Undetectable models sat locked behind a paid plan, so everything below reflects the free tier.

Figure 3. The humanizer's scorecard claims 99% Human on the Basic model.

Then I did the obvious thing. I copied the humanized text and pasted it back into the same AI Detector on the same website, then pressed Check for AI.

Figure 4. The humanized text loaded back into the same AI Detector.

The result is the core of this review.

Undetectable.ai's own detector flagged Undetectable.ai's own humanized output as 99% AI, the exact score the raw ChatGPT text had earned minutes earlier. The humanizer's scorecard had promised a clean pass across seven checkers. The company's detector, looking at the same words, called it machine-written.

Figure 5. The same detector rates the humanized text 99% AI.

To rule out the chance that the built-in scorecard was right and the detector was overcautious, I took the humanized text to an outside checker with no stake in the humanizer. Copyleaks read the passage as 100% AI, counting 268 AI words against zero human words.

Figure 6. Copyleaks rates the humanized text 100% AI.

The outside tool sided with the detector, not the humanizer. On the free Basic model, the humanized writing failed every checker I tried, including the ones the scorecard had marked with a green tick.

I moved on to the rest of the platform. The Chrome extension installed in under a minute and dropped the humanizer into a toolbar for use inside any text box online.

Figure 7. The Undetectable.ai Chrome extension.

The AI Image Detector performed better than the text loop. I gave it a genuine photograph of a government office building, and it labeled the image 97% real.

Figure 8. The image detector rates a real photo 97% real.

I followed that with an AI-generated picture, a golden retriever in sunglasses sitting on a beach. The detector caught it, scoring the image 3% real and marking it as likely AI. Two correct calls out of two.

Figure 9. The image detector rates an AI image 3% real.

Both image results carry a quiet “Powered by TruthScan” line beneath them. TruthScan is an enterprise detection company led by the same CEO who owns Undetectable.ai, which puts one owner on both sides of the trade, selling the tool that disguises AI writing and the tool that exposes it.
